Nursing Assistant

The Nursing Assistant Program is 8 weeks, designed to assist a student to become entry-level Nursing Assistant.


Program Objective

This program is designed to prepare the student for employment as nursing assistant and to become passionate individual in providing basic care to patient and daily activities, observe changes in patients behavior and condition, must always maintain comfort and safety in a wide range of healthcare settings such as hospitals, assisted living facility, nursing home, long-term and short-term care facilities.  student will learn to describe the body systems, learn ethics, communication , legal responsibilities, abuse and laws, learn safety and infection control practices that comply with standards practice for nursing assistant, identify stages of growth and development, define common medical terminology and abbreviation use in healthcare.


Upon successful completion of this program, graduates will receive a diploma and will sit for the Florida Board of Nursing exam to become certified. Students will need to be certified for employment.


Program Description:

Certified Nursing Assistant will be working under the supervision of nurses to deliver high quality care to patients, assist impersonal care and range of motion, demonstrate knowledge of the healthcare delivery system and health occupations, demonstrate the ability to communicate and use interpersonal skills effectively, demonstrate the understanding wellness and disease concepts, demonstrate and practice safety and security procedures, demonstrate knowledge of blood borne disease and HIV AIDS, provide care for geriatrics patients, provide biological, psychological, and social support, provide supervised organizational functions following the plan of care, assist with restorative activities.


Admission:

Must be 18 years or older

Provide appropriate residency documents

Complete an admission application, Fees ($50) non-refundable

A valid state driver's license or valid state ID

An official high school diploma or GED, general education diploma

Must have background check

Complete an Orientation.
