The Home Health Aide is 4 weeks program designed to prepare students for entry level Home Attendant
Program Objective:
The program is designed to prepare students the knowledge and skills that will enable enable them to qualify for entry level position as a home attendant/home health aide. This program include those supportive service that are required to provide and maintain bodily and emotional comfort to assist patient toward independent living in a safe and clean home environment. Students will learn: to assist patient with personal care, such as: bathing, grooming, dressing, perform simple housekeeping tasks, help patient in and out of bed and perform range of motion and basic nutrition.
Upon successful completion of this program, with all requirements being met, graduates will receive a diploma.
Program description:
Describe the role of the home health aide
Outline the responsibility of caring for home-bound patient
Identify and describe OSHA regulations and other safe care requirements
Identifying issues and care concerns for specific population
Identify and describe exercise
Monitor the patient health and maintain up to date records of patient physical and mental conditions
Discuss patient progress with case manager or supervisor
Provide safety and emergency measures
Identify infection control
Admissions:
Must be 18 years or older
Provide appropriate residency documents
Complete admission application, Fees ($50) non-refundable
A valid state's drivers license or valid state ID
An official high school diploma or GED, general education diploma
Must have background check
Complete Orientation
